The coating conforms to Class C/D of IS: 3618, 1966, and the coating weight ranges from 1.1 to 4.3 gms/m² depending upon the concentration used for application. It is ideally suitable for large structural works such as Rail Coaches and Bus Bodies etc.
CONCENTRATION : 30 to 50% by volume as received, depending on the degree of rust/oil present on the surface, average 1:2.
METHOD : By brushing/swabbing.
APPLICATION : Apply the solution to the metal surface and swab or brush thoroughly to remove rust/oil. Allow the chemical reaction to proceed to air-drying. Then wipe with a wet rag and then with a dry cloth. Once the film is dry, further operation such as Primer/Paint application can be carried out.
TESTING :
FREE ACID : Take 10ml of 1:2 bath solution and titrate vs 1 normality Sodium Hydroxide using Bromophenol Blue Indicator. Titration value should be 10 to 15ml, when the color changes from yellow to blue.
